Watchdog finds African swine fever at Miratorg’s Belgorod plant
MOSCOW, Sep 27 (PRIME) -- The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight has detected an outbreak of the African swine fever (ASF) at Russian agricultural holding Miratorg’s Belgorod Region facility, the service said in a statement on Monday.
“As a result of laboratory research, genetic material of the ASF virus was isolated (at Miratorg’s Brodok-2 facility),” the authority said.
In accordance with the ruling of the region’s governor, a 5-kilometer quarantine zone has been established on the territory of the Brodok-2 site.
The service is conducting activities aimed at elimination of the outbreak.
